We aim to create value responsibly and sustainably
Brand ambassadors
We adopt a people-centered approach in doing business, primarily focused on the safety and well-being of our employees.
Communities
We deliberately seek to make a positive, long-lasting difference in the communities in which we operate.
Environment
We understand the adverse effects of climate change and water shortages and take meaningful actions to responsibly reduce our environmental footprint.
Governance
We are governed by the highest standards and are overseen by an independent Board of Directors.
Environmental
We acknowledge several environmental impacts, such as greenhouse gas emissions, stem from our operations.
Our policies on climate change, energy efficiency, water use and management, and waste management are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and continue to be strengthened as we identify emerging risks and other environmental factors.
We have longstanding relationships with car manufacturers and have rolled out hybrid vehicle solutions across our business. This business enables our customers to meet their corporate responsibility aspirations and reduce their carbon footprint. We are well placed to introduce electric vehicles once they are readily available in our operating markets.
Water management
Our efforts include:
- The installation of water recycling facilities at all our wash-bay facilities, with 85% of the used water recycled.
- The expansion of the borehole installations across all key sites.
- The harvesting of rainwater across various facilities.
- Implementing waterless car washing at selected sites
Waste management
- We aim to reduce our waste footprint by 25% by 2030.
Carbon footprint
- We aim to achieve carbon neutrality by 2035.
- We are working to lower our Scope 1 and 2 emissions while strengthening our internal process for measuring and reducing Scope 3 emissions.
- We are adapting our fleet to include hybrid and electric vehicles and have electric charging stations at our biggest sites.
Social
We have adopted a zero-harm approach, supported by various processes and programmes, to actualise this critical objective for all our brand ambassadors.
We contribute to a better society through ongoing investments in education, youth development and empowerment, and humanitarian programmes. We encourage our employees to contribute their time and talent to support their local communities.
Education
- We invest in improved access to quality high school education and improved outcomes in science, technology, engineering and mathematics
Youth development
We are committed to developing and sponsoring skills in the youth, and initiating skills and leadership
development programmes.
- We sponsor youth skills and leadership development programmes
- We sponsor skills development programmes for graduates
- We offer bursaries and learnerships
Socio-economic empowerment
We act as a catalyst for socio-economic upliftment in our communities by increasing localisation, SMME spending and support by 15% annually.
We are continuously increasing the number of SMMEs we support through our supplier development programme
Humanitarian
- We fund welfare, charity and humanitarian causes.
Governance
We have an appropriate level of Board independence, a Code of Conduct centred around commitment, integrity and responsibility, and independent assurance of key internal and financial controls.
